Philadelphia Roundup Lawsuit Attorneys
Representing Cancer Victims Nationwide
In March 2015, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the weed killer, Monsanto Roundup (glyphosate), a probable human carcinogen. Thousands of farmers and other agricultural workers who have had prolonged exposure to this weed killer and were subsequently diagnosed with cancer are filing lawsuits across the country.
In one case, a school groundskeeper diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma received a $78 million settlement against Roundup.
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is the most commonly reported types of cancer in connection to Roundup exposure, but other cancers might be related as well. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer and have been exposed to Roundup herbicide, do not hesitate to contact our Philadelphia Monsanto Roundup lawsuit attorneys.

History and Studies Regarding Roundup
Roundup is the most widely used weed killer in the United States and worldwide. In the 1980’s it was discovered that several scientific studies regarding the safety of Roundup involved fraudulent activity. Three top executives of Bio-Test Laboratories, who were hired by Monsanto, were fired for falsifying reports. In 1996, Roundup was sued in New York for advertising their product as “safer than table salt,” but was not barred from advertising it as ‘safe for humans’ in other states.
The fact is that the Environmental Protection Agency had classified glyphosate as a possibly carcinogenic substance as early as 1985. The most recent report by the WHO has brought the issue back on the table. Glyphosate kills weeds by disrupting an enzyme known as EPSP for short; however, the human body uses this same enzyme and depends on it for a healthy immune system.
The Monsanto and Bayer companies deny that their product causes cancer, but due to scientific evidence, many courts across the country have been taking the side of the plaintiffs. Experts have testified that in many cases, Roundup has almost certainly been a significant factor in causing cancer for consumers who were exposed to it.
Symptoms of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is the form of cancer most commonly associated with repeated or heavy exposure to Roundup weed killer. If you have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and used Roundup in the past, then there could be a direct connection. You might also be suffering the first signs of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and not realize it.
Symptoms of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma include:
- Swollen neck, armpits, or groin
- Abdominal pain or occasional swelling
- Chest pain
- Breathing difficulties
- Chronic fatigue
- Frequent fevers or night sweats
- Sudden or unplanned weight loss
Please see a medical provider as soon as possible if you have had persistent or severe symptoms. Without an official non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis, it could be more difficult to start a claim against Monsanto.
Compensation in Roundup Claims & Lawsuits
Lawsuits filed or forming against Monsanto are pursuing various forms of compensation owed to consumers who used Roundup weed killer, or who lived near or worked around where it was sprayed for agriculture. If your case is handled individually, then the compensation owed to you will be based on your unique damages and losses.
Compensation owed to Roundup cancer plaintiffs could include:
- Past medical treatment costs
- Future specialized medical care
- Lost wages and future lost income
- Pain and suffering
- Lowered enjoyment of life
- Decreased life expectancy
It could be possible that a court will approve punitive damages to punish Monsanto for knowingly selling unsafe weed killer products to the public. Punitive damages are rare but can be justified when the harm to plaintiffs was caused by egregious negligence.

Monsanto Roundup Lawsuit FAQ:
Have any Roundup lawsuits been successful so far?
Yes, three Roundup cancer lawsuits have been resolved in jury verdicts in favor of the plaintiffs. Although Monsanto has appealed to try to lower the verdict amounts or challenge the result outright, the successes are still significant because they show that the arguments behind them are legally sound.
Will a class action lawsuit be formed against Monsanto or Roundup?
At this point, hundreds of lawsuits against Monsanto and Roundup have been handled as multidistrict litigation (MDL). It is likely that MDL will be used to consolidate future claims, too, so a class action lawsuit might not be formed.
Is it proven that Roundup causes cancer?
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) both agree that the glyphosate in Roundup is a “probable carcinogen,” meaning that scientific evidence suggests that it is more than likely to be able to cause cancer through repeated exposure. However, Bayer and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) both insist that glyphosate is safe for use in weed killers. Even though glyphosate’s link to cancer is not universally agreed-upon, the available evidence is still strong enough to warrant Roundup cancer lawsuits.
What other diseases can Roundup cause other than non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma?
Glyphosate found in Roundup has been linked to a higher risk of various diseases and health conditions beyond non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, including Alzheimer's disease, kidney disease, Parkinson’s disease, infertility, autism in newborns, and more.
