Attorney Richard Golomb, of Golomb Legal, P.C., was recently elected to a second three-year term on the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s (ATLA) board of governors. Golomb received news of this prestigious re-election at ATLA’s meeting in Boston in July 2004. In response to his re-election, Golomb stated that “It’s a great pleasure to have the opportunity to serve ATLA once again.”
ATLA is comprised of 60,000 trial lawyers from across the nation, as well as Central and South America, Puerto Rico, and elsewhere. This group of attorneys works hard to protect the rights of victims and consumers at every level and participates in a wide array of pro-bono activities, especially in the wake of 9/11. In November of 2004, Golomb was recognized by ATLA with a citation of excellence.
Golomb worked as a part of ATLA’s Trial Lawyers Care project, which is the largest pro-bono effort in the history of American jurisprudence. He was one of more than 2,100 attorneys who participated in ATLA’s effort to assist the families of 9/11 victims in collecting from the victim’s compensation fund. In one such case that Golomb represented, he succeeded in recovering a $1.5 million award.
According to Golomb, “Trial Lawyers Cares is a perfect example of the good work ATLA does on behalf of victims. That’s one of the big reasons that I am thrilled to be serving on ATLA’s board a second time. The other reason is that this position helps me better serve our clients at Golomb Legal, P.C.”
